Artificial Insemination (Swine) NC II is a short TESDA course in the Philippines that will train you in performing artificial insemination on pigs. Some examples of skills that you will acquire from enrolling in this course include:
- Applying safety measures in farm operations
- Using farm tools and equipment
- Performing estimation and calculations
- Confirming readiness of sow/gilt for artificial insemination
- Collecting boar semen
- Performing artificial insemination (AI) on sow/gilt
- Preparing documentations and reports on sow/gilt artificial insemination (AI) activities
- Conducting community awareness program in artificial insemination
- Rendering assistance to veterinary procedures related to reproductive problems
Course Duration
Artificial Insemination (Swine) NC II takes a minimum of 127 hours plus an optional 48 hours more to complete.
Admission Requirements
Basic requirements for this TESDA course include:
- Copy of NSO Birth Certificate
- Highschool or College Diploma
- Certified True Copy of Transcript of Records or Form 137
- Certificate of Good Moral Character
- 1×1 and/or 2×2 Pictures
Careers
Qualified graduates of Artificial Insemination (Swine) NC II can find employment as any of the following:
- Swine Artificial Insemination Technician
- Swine Breeding Technician
Competency Assessment and Certification
Students enrolled in the Artificial Insemination (Swine) NC II course may be required to undergo a Competency Assessment before graduation.
