  1. Hi I’m also a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and already working as
an Environmental officer in Local Government Unit but the problem is that my promotion for my position need a eligibility.. what kind of exam will do? Is it applicable for me to take Civil Service Exam?

  2. nvironmental Science course was very interesting because it deals with an interdisciplinary academic field that integrates physical and biological sciences, the study of the environment, and the solution of environmental problems. Environmental science also provides an integrated, quantitative, and interdisciplinary approach to the study of environmental systems. What I like most of this course is very challenging and I can be more close to our environment for me to know the aqua and terrestrial habitat of our ecosystem- and its function as well. It was not difficult for me to take this course because I’m already a nature’s lover.

  3. Hello !
Is it hard to find a job when your a BS-ES grad ?
    Just asking.
    I’m a 1styr BS-ES at University of Mindanao , Davao City.ν ½

  4. Bs in environmental science is a difficult course ?

    • It varies depending on your skills and interests. If you’ve always liked Science-related subjects and don’t have much problems with numbers, you’d probably do just fine. We haven’t personally experienced taking BSES, though, so you might want to ask actual graduates of the course as they’d probably be able to share more information with you.

      Thanks for visiting our site.

Job opportunities may change over time, but right now, some of the jobs available for graduates of BSES include environmental scientist, safety, security, health and environment officer, research assistant, research analyst, quality assurance analyst, and environmental consultant.
Browsing employment sites like jobstreet and jobsdb might give some more examples too.

      • Thank you! for the reply. Can I ask are u a BSES graduate? Can you help me find a job soon hahahaha! (weird thought)

Try to check out the sites we mentioned before as well as the other sites similar to them. You won’t only find actual lists of jobs you can pursue after you graduate, you can also get a general idea of what employers look for in applicants so you can make the necessary preparations that could give you an edge in job screenings as early as now.

  7. im a bses graduate.with the increase awareness and consciousness among the people because of the recent hazards brought by climate change, bses became in demand this year. the people now are trying to conform economic development to the preservation and conservation of the environment, that is trying to ensure sustainable development.im now working at DPWH as Environmental Management Specialist II.

  8. hello, I would like to ask if BS in Environmental Science is in demand nowadays here in Philippines? thanks

    • Hi, Lenard!

      Thanks for visiting our site.

There are a couple of job vacancies open for BS Environmental Science graduates, but we’re under the impression that it’s not particularly in demand in the country — at least compared to courses in the fields of engineering and information technology. There seems to be a higher demand abroad, though. Then again, that’s just our impression. We’re not really sure about the actual statistics.

If you have the time, try to search for “environmental science” on employment websites like Jobstreet and Jobsdb. They will give you an idea of how many vacancies are there for a specific job.

      • is there any examination might be taken by an environmental science graduate here in the philippines?

        • Hi, Roxanne!

          Thanks for visiting our site.

Were you asking if there’s a licensure examination for BSES graduates? If so, from what we know, there’s none yet.

    • Hi Edzel,

I’m also a BSES grad and have been working in an envi consulting firm here in the Manila. Should you like to work on the natural environment under a private firm, you’d most likely be doing EIA and pemitting projects. I suggest you look-up multinational envi firms in the net and see if they have offices here in Manila – suggest you do a personal application for these firms. Cheers!

        • HI Gerard,

you know what??…..you are an ANGEL IN DISGUISE!….thanks for answering and can i know which company you exactly work now?

  10. where can posible to work, environmental science if they can graduate??

    • Hi, Ryne!

      Thanks for visiting our site.

Graduates of BS Environmental Science can work for any company or organization that, in one way or another, deals with the environment. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) would be a good example. Construction firms may also hire environmental scientists to study the possible effects of their future projects to their immediate environment. Aside from those, environmental scientists can also work as researchers at research facilities or as a professor in a college or university.

  11. What are the environmental related courses which will become employable on the upcoming years?

    • Hi, Ching!

      Thanks for dropping by again.

As much as we’d like to answer your question, we don’t really have the means to predict that. The government has been encouraging more students to take us BS Geology, though, as it is said that there is a high demand for geologists but not enough professionals left in the Philippines to fill the job.

      πŸ™‚

  12. Is environmental science graduate student can find job easily on the upcoming years?

    • Hi, Ching!

      Thanks for visiting our site.

That will be difficult to answer as unforeseen events can easily change employment trends. There is currently a decent number of job opportunities for graduates of BSES, but the degree doesn’t seem to be particularly in demand — at least when compared to degrees in the fields of engineering, health sciences, and information technology.

  13. I think AdMU and PUP also offer the BSES, with the former also having MSES, MEM. Do they have a Ph.D. already?

Miriam has a degree program in Environmental Planning. Kindly check if AB/BS or MA?

UP Dil has a School of Urban and Regional Planning.

    • Hi, James!

Thanks for visiting our site and for sharing what you know.

You’re right. AdMU does have BSES , MSES, and MEM programs although they don’t seem to have a Ph. D. program yet. There wasn’t any mention of a BSES program in the PUP website, so they’re probably not offering it yet.

      It’s a BS degree.

      πŸ™‚

  14. Is there an examination taken by the graduate of BSES?

    • Hi, Roxanne!

      Thanks for visiting our site.

As far as we know, there is no licensure examination for graduates of Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science.

      πŸ™‚

    • Hi, I hope grads of BS Env Science can share their whereabouts. I am currently tracking where our graduates are and how we can improve the program.

  15. Is environmental science has a masters degree?

    • Hi, Pamela!

      Thanks for visiting our site.

Yes. There is a Master of Science in Environmental Science degree.

      πŸ™‚

    • where can i take that masters degree here in philippines?

      • Hi, Pamela!

Thanks for visiting our site again.

University of the Philippines Los Banos
        De La Salle University (Manila)
Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology
        University of San Carlos
        Philippine Women’s University

  16. bses is related to environmental engineering?

    • Hi, Jan!

      Thanks for visiting the site.

Yup. BS Environmental Science and BS Environmental Engineering are related programs.

“The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, being a multidisciplinary field, is allied to a number of programs across different disciplines. It is allied to fields in agriculture, fisheries… environmental design and planning, and environmental engineering and sanitation.”
      – Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order Number 35 Series of 2005.

  17. Hi, Abel!

    Thanks for visiting the site.

So far, UP Diliman is the only school we know that offers a post graduate degree program in Geology. Their website says “Admission into the program requires a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related science or engineering field,” so there could be a possibility. They didn’t specify which particular courses are allowed, though, so it would be best if you’ll contact them directly so they can give you a more accurate and detailed response.

  18. may i ask if environmental science grads can pursue graduate course in geology?

    • I’m a grad of BSES in AdMU. I asked UP NIGS if I could pursue thier Masters in HydroGeo. Based on my last inquiry with UP NIGS, I’d still need a sem of undergraduate geo courses so they could allow me to take the masters course.
