  1. Good I would like to ask if I can still get a bachelor degree even I will not take the one year ojt. The main reason is I want to change career, I want to apply as a fire man in BFP, in addition my uncle is a psychologist and he work in a agency for psychological test, he told me that I should get other career because I’m not fit to work in sea. I wanted to know what can I do to have bachelor degree. So I can change career, join in BFP

    • Hi, Mark!

From what we know, the OJT is part of the subjects that have to be taken in order to finish the course, so we’re guessing probably not. We’re not sure if that applies to all courses or if that is a rule imposed by all schools, though, so we strongly suggest that you either get in touch with the school that you are studying at so they can give you a more accurate reply.

  2. Hi, I am a graduate of AB Philosophy. I just want to know if there are schools offering short maritime courses. Besides, I also want to ask if these schools will credit the previous subjects that already took up from my previous school. Thanks.
    Your reply would be appreciated.

  3. This course is a big BS. The one year seagoing service after graduation is impossible to attain with out backing from anybody working in the field. When you apply there is no aptitude test for applicant to know if he is qualified. Interview is the only basis, if you are brought in there by a captain who is your relative the chance is already 95%. Some captains are enslaving high school graduate friends of theirs working in there land, garden or homes and promised a job when they comeback.

  4. what is the best reason, why the student take the BSMT course?

  5. graduate po ako 2years course sa ibang school na hindi related sa BSMT, and im planning to take BSMT at TIP Manila, credit po kaya yung ibang subjects ko pagnag BSMT ako?

  6. i am now 30 yrs. old and i’m planning to take BS in MT..am i still qualified to take this course?..also i find the math subjects hard..what r my chances?..thanks! 🙂

    • Hi, Benedict!

So far, we haven’t heard of any age limits when it comes to taking BSMT. If you want to be sure, though, it’s best if you’ll call the school you are thinking of enrolling at so they can give you proper advice.

As for your second question, none of us has taken the course, so we’re not sure exactly how many and how hard the Math subjects in this course are. If you have the time, we suggest you visit forums or blogs that discuss this course so you can get some information from people who took or are taking it.

      🙂

      • Just make sure you have high ranking relatives. OR YOU’LL END UP JUST LIKE THE OTHERS. My point is i have completed the three year academic requirements, now my purpose is to make it a B.S. AND THAT needs 1 year of seagoing experience, what should i do? how will i fulfill my ambition to complete course?

  7. i been stopped,at second year,do the application will fit at 29 years of age,,in thuis course
