Commercial Cooking NC III in the Philippines



Commercial Cooking NC III is a short TESDA course in the Philippines that will train you in managing a small restaurant or cooking business.

Some of the things that you will learn from taking this includes developing new recipes, preparing menus according to clients’ requirements, organizing bulk cooking operations, finding cheap but reliable sources of the items you need, and pricing menu items to achieve decent profits while keeping customers happy at the same time.

Other examples of competencies that you will acquire from enrolling in this course include:

  • Leading small teams
  • Developing and practicing negotiation skills
  • Using mathematical concepts and techniques
  • Controlling order and stock
  • Training small groups
  • Establishing and maintaining quality control
  • Establishing and conducting business relationships

Course Duration

Commercial Cooking NC III takes  a minimum of 244 hours to complete.

That is about 3 months for an 8am-12nn Monday-Friday class schedule.

Admission Requirements

Basic requirements for this TESDA course include:

  • Copy of NSO Birth Certificate
  • Highschool or College Diploma
  • Certified True Copy of Transcript of Records or Form 137
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • 1×1 and/or 2×2 Pictures

Different schools and training centers have their own set of requirements to enroll in any of their programs. It is best to contact them for their complete list of Admission Requirements.

Prerequisite: 

Some Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) may require you to complete Commercial Cooking NC II before being allowed to take Commercial Cooking NC III.

Careers

Qualified graduates of Commercial Cooking NC III can find employment as any of the following:

  • Chef de Partie
  • Head Chef
  • Businessman

Competency Assessment and Certification

Students enrolled in the Commercial Cooking NC III course may be required to undergo a Competency Assessment at any TESDA-Accredited Competency Assessment Center for Commercial Cooking NC III before graduation. A National Certificate (NC III) will be issued to students who passed this assessment.

      As long as you meet the training center’s admission requirements, yes, you can take Commercial Cooking NC III after taking the NC II.
