Why did you choose to take the course you did?:
I’m more into analyzing language syntax, English grammar in particular, than solving mathematical problems.
What was the most interesting thing about the course?
You study the rules of a language, and apply these rules on the languages that you will learn along the way.
What kind of activities did you do in your major subjects?
Oral lessons, lectures, seminars, watching documentaries and videos…
What advice can you give to incoming students who are thinking of taking the same course you did?
Majoring in Linguistics is not simply about learning a lot of languages. It’s about learning the rules that govern language in general. It’s a major which gets really interesting along the way.
What are the things you learned from the course that have proven to be very useful in your work?
Communication skills and how people use language. Those theories really are very helpful. 🙂
Do you think you chose the right course?
Of course! Please do take and major in Linguistics! Though others may say that this is an easy program, I’m telling you it isn’t, but the experience is great!
