Herbalists in the Philippines



Herbalists, also known as herbologists and pytotherapists, are people who use their knowledge of medicinal plants and plant preparation to treat a wide range of human illnesses.

What course do I need to take to become a herbalist?

Requirements for pursuing a career in herbology or pytotheraphy depends on where you’re planning to gain employment. For example, in in Europe, people seeking employment as herbalists are required to complete related academic programs accredited by the National Institute of Medical Herbalists or any of the organizations recognized by the European Herbal and Traditional Medicine Practitioners’ Association.

In places where the practice of herbology or pytotherapy is not strictly regulated, people without actual degrees are allowed to practice their craft, although they might be required to observe certain guidelines or conditions.
