Non-credit Courses in the Philippines

Non-credit Courses are short courses that may take anywhere from several days to several months to complete. Upon completion of the program, the student may be granted a certificate as a proof that they have finished the course; however, contrary to certificate programs with credit, non-credit courses are not officially sanctioned by accrediting bodies, and, thus, may or may not be considered by companies or other institutions when deciding employment.

Programs like this typically work for people who only wish to learn a specific skill for their personal curiosity or satisfaction and are not bound by the need to earn certificates such as those who want to use the said certificates for employment purposes.

A good number of non-credit courses are offered online.

Below are some examples of schools, groups, or agencies that offer non-credit courses in the Philippines:

  • Philippine Trade and Training Center (not free)
  • Department of Science and Technology (not free)
  •  Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA) Seafarers Upgrading Program (free)

If I am accredited to take and I passed the exam ( not in boastful way) how can I enroll 1st sem if there K12 already, So I will wait 2 years from the first batch of grade 11 or I will enroll not 1st sem but to enroll basic Education grade 11 thanks for your Cooperation…

    • Hi, Melissa!

Were you possibly referring to the ALS A & E Test? If so, there’s no age limit for taking the test, however, we’re not quite sure how the implementation of the K 12 program has affected those who have only recently taken the exam or still thinking of taking it, so we suggest that you get in touch with the nearest DepEd office so they can give you an accurate and detailed reply.

      🙁
