Incoming first year and second year Engineering students from:

  • Ateneo de Manila University
  • Central Luzon State University
  • De La Salle University
  • Mapua Institute of Technology
  • Mindanao State University
  •  University of the Philippines – Diliman
  • University of the Philippines – Los Baños
  • University of San Carlos

* Other universities may be considered on a case-to-case basis.

Eligibility Requirements:

Incoming freshmen

    • Top 5% of high school graduating class
    • Will pursue a science or engineering degree
    • Filipino citizen, without pending immigration application to any foreign country
    • Good mental, physical, and emotional health
    • Good moral character
    • Incoming freshmen students with a HS final grade equivalent to 86% without any failing grades

* For Mapua Institute of Technology applicants/students

    • Must score at least 70% in Mapúa Scholastic Aptitude Exam (MSAE), score may be verified through Mapúa Admissions Office, call 524-5570 or email Admissions@mapua.edu.ph

*Please check with your school if there are any other special requirements you would need to comply with to avail the scholarship.

Incoming Second Year

    • Pursuing a science or engineering degree.
    • Filipino citizen, without pending immigration application to any foreign country.
    • Good mental, physical, and emotional health.
    • Good moral character.
    • Incoming second year students with a GWA equivalent to 2.0, without failing grades in any course.

Conditions to Maintain the Scholarship:

  • Must maintain a GWA equivalent to 2.0, without a failing grade in any course
  • Must remain in a science or engineering major until completion of a degree
  • Shifting majors (within science or engineering) is subject to review and approval by the SuperFund Scholarship Committee. The scholarship will not cover increased academic workloads due to changes in required courses for the new major.
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student.
  • Must not be employed until the completion of the degree.
  • Must not be involved in a disciplinary case.
  • Must be willing to participate in a summer internship, annual camps and other programs.
  • Must be willing to render the required service obligation equivalent to one (1) year of service for every year of scholarship, for a total of four or five years.

Additional Terms for Superfund Scholarship:

  • In case the scholar will be unable to complete undergraduate studies, the scholar is required to fully repay all privileges received from the scholarship plus 12% of the amount to cover administration costs of the scholarship. This is consistent with ERDT.
  • Repayment of scholarship over ten years, to make the SuperFund Scholarships self-sustaining, as well as to instill a value system for the scholars to pay it forward.

    • 2 x 2 photograph, taken within a month of scholarship application
    • Photocopy of High school Report card (if available)
    • Written certification from the applicant’s high school principal on the applicant’s status of being in the top 5% of their graduating class
    • Certificate of good moral character written by the applicant’s principal or guidance counselor
    • Statement from the applicant’s parents or guardian indicating that the applicant has not applied as a resident or immigrant in any foreign country
    • Photocopy of NSO birth certificate
    • Parents’ most recent income tax return

Additional requirements for the Final interview:

    • Original NSO birth certificate
    • Health certificate accomplished by a PhilDev-accredited doctor
    • Original High school report card

How can I get an application form?

It seems that except for Mapua University, you have to personally obtain the application form from the respective scholarship offices of the partner schools mentioned above. We’re not sure about the other schools. It’s best if you’ll contact the representative of PhilDev directly so they can give you a more accurate response. You can find the Superfund guidelines on the PhilDev website.

How will I know if I were chosen as one of their scholars?

According to the PhilDev website, PhilDev will notify the selected applicants; could be through a letter or through the school of the applicant.

I’m not from the partner universities of PhilDev and my course was not mentioned on the list of courses/majors they endorse. Can I still apply for the scholarship?

PhilDev is in the best position to answer these questions, so it’s best if you’ll contact their official representative through the contact information listed above so they can give you an accurate response.

  1. GOod day. I’m from Sultan Kudarat but i want to study in Davao. My parents are farmers and they have lots of debts to pay. They can’t afford anymore to send me in college. I want to take Accountancy. Please help me guys , I can work for you after I graduated. I just really really reaalyy want to finish my studies because I really believe that I can’t reach my dreams without education. I want to save my family from poverty and someday I also want to found a charity or foundation for those children like me that can’t go to school.   7. I am already enrolled at misamis university in ozamis city and the class will start this monday. Unfortunately i dropped it today. I am already 20 years old and i graduated my HS years when i was 16. It’s gonna be 5 years I’ve wasted without doing something due to financial struggles. I am willing to finally start my college life if i am qualified with this scholarship offers. Am i? Please reply.

Im an incoming freshman student in Central Colleges of the Philippines as a scholar for only one semester, BS Architecture. Can I apply for your scholarship? Though I passed my Original HS Card in my school for requirement but I have the photocopy.

  11. Hi…. i wanted it inquire about this, i am currently studying at FEU, taking BSBA in Economics, but i am pursuing to shift to a Science course (MedTech). i am an incoming Sophomore. I have GWA of 1.33 with no failing grades. Will i be qualified? Cause we really can’t afford continuing anymore without scholarship. I had partial scholarship currently, yet it’s not enough for our budget. thanks.

    I’m currently an enrolled freshman student of Mapua(MIT)-Intramuros with BSECE as my program. The MIT’s CSFA recommended me to apply for your superfund scholarship and so did I. I completed all the requirements and submitted it to CSFA. Last time I checked, they said they’ve already forwarded all the documents to you. Now may I know when are u POSTING the list of qualifiers for such?

      The partner schools would be conducting the initial screening, though, so you can probably contact UP Los Baños first. They should be able to give you more information about the program.
