University of Santo Tomas Entrance Test (USTET) 2013 for SY 2014 – 2015



University of Santo Tomas has announced the schedule of the University of Santo Tomas Entrance Test (USTET) for SY 2014-2015.

 

Application Schedule:

 

July 1, 2013 – November 23, 2013

Mondays to Saturdays

8:00 AM – 11:30AM/1:00 PM – 4:30PM

Office for Admissions (OFAD)

Rm 104 tan Yan Kee Student Center

 

Schedule of Examinations:

  • First batch: August 25, 2013
  • Second batch: September 29, 2013
  • Last batch: November 24, 2013

 

Release of USTET Results:

  • January 28, 2014

 

Policy Guidelines for Freshmen (Local and International Students):

  • Only candidates for high school graduation of the current school year are qualified to take the UST Entrance Test (USTET).
  • The following applicants must secure clearance from the UST Registrar’s Office before submitting their Application and Grades Form:
  • Passers of Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) and the Non-Formal Education Accreditation and Equivalency (NFEA&E)
  • Students who are graduates of the previous school year
  • Candidates for graduation from foreign schools
  • Foreigners graduating from local schools
  • (Please bring original academic records, certification for passing PEPT/NFEA&E and alien certificate of registration papers or passport, when applicable)
  • Application fees of candidates for high school graduation belonging to the top 5 of their batch, (based on the third year final grading period) may be waived upon presentation of a certification from the high school principal indicating their academic standing

 

Policy Guidelines for Transferees:

A student from another school/college/university who wishes to transfer to the University must:

  • have no failing grades in any course;
  • have not been subjected to disciplinary action in the school/college/university of origin; and
  • meet the requirements for residency in the University

 

Policy Guidelines for Shifters:

  • Admission of a shifter is subject to the availability of slots in the receiving college/faculty/institute.
  • A student with nine (9) units of deficiencies in general education courses is not allowed to shift.
  • A shifter is required to comply with the grade and other requirements set by the receiving faculty/college/institute.
  • The shifter needs to pass the UST – Shifter’s Qualifying Test (UST-SQT).
  • A shifter who wishes to shift to another program within the same faculty/college/institute need not take the UST Shifter’s Qualifying Test (UST-SQT).

 

Requirements for Application for Freshmen (Local Students):

Submit the following together with the accomplished Application and Grades form:

  • Clear photocopy of NSO birth certificate
  • Two (2) 2” x 2” recent identical pictures with white background and with printed name and signature at the back
  • Non-refundable application fee
    • Local Students (Php500.00)
    • Foreign students studying abroad – P1,500
    • Foreign students studying in the Philippines – P1,000
    • Filipino students studying abroad – P1,000

 

Requirements for Admission (International Students):

  • A foreign student who qualifies for admission must present/submit the following to the Office of the Registrar:
  • Student Visa secured from the Philippine Foreign Service Post in the country of origin or legal residence.
  • Five (5) copies of the Student’s Personal History Statement (PHS) duly signed by him/her, all in English, his/her personal seal, if any, and containing among others, his/her left and right thumb- prints and a 2”x2” photograph on plain white background taken not more than six months prior to submission.
  • Transcript of Records/Scholastic Records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student applicant’s country of origin or legal residence.
  • A notarized Affidavit of Support including bank statements or notarized notice of grant for institutional scholars to cover expenses for the student’s accommodation and subsistence, as well as school dues and other incidental expenses.
  • Photocopy of data page of the student’s passport showing date and place of birth, and birth certificate or its equivalent duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post.

 

Requirements for Admission (Shifters):

Within the Same Faculty

  • Letter of Intent addressed to the Dean of the receiving faculty/college/institute.
  • Clear photocopy of transcript of records duly certified by the Office of the Registrar;
  • Endorsement letter coming from the Guidance Counselor of the college/faculty/institute of origin.
  • Admission Memo accomplished by the shifter

Shifting from one faculty/college to another

  • Letter of Intent addressed to the Dean of the receiving faculty/college/institute.
  • Clear photocopy of transcript of records duly certified by the Office of the Registrar;
  • Endorsement letter coming from the Guidance Counselor of the college/faculty/institute of origin.
  • Clearance  to shift from the Dean of his/her current college/faculty;
  • Clearance from the Office for Student Affairs; 
  • Approval and endorsement of the Dean of the receiving faculty/college/institute of the shifter to the Secretary General; and faculty/college to another)
  • Final approval of the Secretary General for the shifter to take the UST – Shifter’s Qualifying Test (UST- SQT)

Important Reminders:

  • Applicants with incomplete requirements will not be entertained
  • You may apply and take the USTET at the designated testing center near you. Please get in touch with the testing center’s coordinator for the submission of requirements.
  • Applicants will be scheduled to the nearest testing date, upon submission of all the required documents.
  • Application fee of high school candidates for graduation belonging to the top 5 of their batch (based on the third year final grading period) may be waived upon submission of a certification from the high school principal indicating their academic standing.
  • Details of the application will be sent via the email address you entered.
  • Submitted documents become property of UST – Office for Admissions.
  • USTET Application of foreign students/students in foreign school/previous year passer:
  • Securing Clearance from the UST Registrar’s office is from Mondays to Fridays only.
  • Enrollment to any college or vocational course prior to the release of the USTET shall result to the nullification of the examination taken.The fees paid for the USTET shall be forfeited in favor of the University.
  • Any misrepresentation of information entered in the application form, or any violation of the instructions given shall be a ground for forfeiture of right to enroll, or debarment in the succeeding semester if discovered in the current semester.
