What is the difference between Bachelor of Arts in Economics (AB Economics) and Bachelor of Science in Economics (BS Economics)?

Bachelor of Arts in Economics (AB Economics) and Bachelor of Science in Economics (BS Economics) are identical for the most part. They cover the same topics and the list of courses on their curricula are mostly the same; however, contrary to AB Economics that have more courses that are geared towards the liberal arts (languages, literature, history, and philosophy), BS Economics have more courses that are geared towards the field of mathematics (calculus, statistics, and accounting).

If you are interested in pursuing a career in the banking or financial industry, the BS Economics program might work well for you as it will give you a solid background in math and science. AB Economics’ liberal arts-oriented subjects, on the other hand, might prove to be a big help to you if you will be pursuing a career in writing, politics, or teaching in the future.
