Dentistry Board Exam 2013



The Dentistry Board Exam, also known as the Dental (Performance) Licensure Examination , is a board exam facilitated by the Board of Dentistry under the Professional Regulatory Commission to assess the competency of graduates.

As per R.A. 1080, individuals who passed the board exam need not take any other qualifying exams to be eligible for the following positions:

  • Dentists
  • Dental Hygienists
  • Dental Technologists

Review Courses for Dentistry Board Exam

There are review courses that you can take to prepare for the board exam. The content of these review courses may vary depending on the review centers, but theyre mostly based on the examination scope released by the Professional Regulatory Commission which includes:

  • General and Oral Anatomy and Physiology
  • General and Oral Pathology
  • General and Oral Microscopic Anatomy and Microbiology
  • Prosthetic Dentistry (Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Partial Denture and Complete Denture
  • Dental Materials
  • Roentgenology
  • Oral Diagnosis
  • Oral Surgery
  • Anesthesiology
  • Pharmacology
  • Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics
  • Dental Jurisprudence, Ethics, and Practice Management
  • Periodontics and Endodontics

( Practical)

  • Restorative Dentistry
  • Class II GV Black cavity preparation on tow posterior teeth
  • The indicated posterior tooth with cavity preparation will be filled with amalgam (typodont)
  • Fixed Prosthodontics
  • Preparation of two abutments (anterior or posterior) for the reception of a Porcelain Fused to Metal Fixed Partial Denture (Typodont)
  • Removable Partial Denture
  • Survey and Design a Bilateral One-Piece Removal Partial Denture on a maxillary or mandibular cast.
  • Complete Denture (No live patient)

TAKING THE EXAM

Licensure exams for Doctor of Dental Medicine graduates are usually held twice a year. Below are the dates and testing centers for the 2013 Dentistry Board Exam:
