Chemists Board Exam 2012



The  Chemists Board Exam, also known as the Chemists Licensure Examination, is a board exam facilitated by the Board of  Chemistry under the Professional Regulatory Commission to assess the competency of  Bachelor of Science in Chemistry graduates.

As per R.A. 1080, individuals who passed the board exam need not take the civil service exams to be eligible for the following positions:

  • Chemist
  • Product Specialist
  • Production Engineer
  • Academic Researcher

Review Courses for the Chemists Board Exam

There are review courses that you can take to prepare for the board exam. The content of these review courses may vary depending on the review centers, but they’re mostly based on the examination scope released by the Professional Regulatory Commission which includes:

Inorganic Chemistry 25%

  • Fundamentals of inorganic chemistry
  • Periodicity and inorganic reactions including transition metal chemistry
  • Characterization of inorganic compounds

Organic Chemistry 25%

  • Fundamentals of organic chemistry including Biochemistry reactions
  • Characterization of Organic compounds

Analytical Chemistry 25%

  • Fundamentals of qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis
  • Instrumental analysis

Physical Chemistry 25%

  • Principles of physical chemistry including introductory quantum theory
  • Thermodynamics and equilibria
  • Chemical kinetics

 

TAKING THE EXAM

Licensure exams for Bachelor of Science in Chemistry graduates are held once a year. Below are the date and testing location for the 2012 Chemists Board Exam:
