A horticulturist in the Philippines is a person who is primarily concerned with raising crops either for human consumption or for the manufacture of other products derived from plants.
As a professional, it is their job to educate farmers or casual plant growers on the best ways to increase crop/plant production and protect them from insect infestation.
In some cases, they may also be responsible for managing landscaping jobs by giving advice on the best plants to use, the best time to plant them, and the proper way to take care of them.
