Marine Engineer Officers Board Exam 2013



The Marine Engineer Board Exam, also known as the Marine Engineer Officers Licensure Examination, is a board exam facilitated by the Board of Marine Engineer under the Professional Regulatory Commission to assess the competency of BS Marine Engineering graduates.

As per R.A. 1080, individuals who passed the board exam need not take the civil service exams to be eligible for the following positions:

  • Chief Marine Engineer
  • Second Marine Engineer
  • O.I.C. of an Engineering Watch

Review Courses for Marine Engineer Officers Board Exam

There are review courses that you can take to prepare for the board exam. The content of these review courses may vary depending on the review centers, but theyre mostly based on the examination scope released by the Professional Regulatory Commission which includes:

  • Marine Engineering – 25%
  • Electrical, Electronics, and Control Engineering – 25%
  • Maintenance and Repair – 25%
  • Controlling the Operation of the Ship and Care for Persons on Board – 25%

TAKING THE EXAM

Licensure exams for BS Marine Engineering graduates are usually held thrice a year. Below are the dates and testing centers for the 2013 Marine Engineer Officers Board Exam:
