Degree Programs in the Philippines
Degree programs are programs of study that are geared towards granting you a degree in exchange for completing a specified number of subjects which you can then use to get a job or pursue higher learning. Degree programs in the country are often divided into three sub-categories: associate degrees, undergraduate degrees, and post-graduate degrees.
Associate degreeĀ programsĀ typically take two to three years to obtain, depending on the field of study. Upon completion of the program, you will be granted an Associate Degree that you can use either to pursue employment or gain acceptance into an undergraduate degree program.
An undergraduate degree program, on the other hand, typically takes four to five years to complete, depending on the field of study. Upon completion of the program, you will be granted a Bachelor’s Degree that you can use either to apply for jobs that require higher skill sets, particularly when it comes to the performance of administrative or management-related duties, or to gain acceptance into a post-graduate degree program.
In contrast to undergraduate degree programs, post-graduate degree programs (simply called graduate degree programs in the United States and Canada), typically take two years to complete. This will be mostly true if you will be pursuing a Master’s Degree; however, it will still depend on how many subjects you can complete per semester and how long you can finish your thesis (if you are required to produce one).
