Rio on Bachelor in Secondary Education Major in Technology and Livelihood Education

Name: Rio

Course Taken: Bachelor in Secondary Education Major in Technology and Livelihood Education

Why did you choose to take the course you did?

I was a graduate of Nutrition and Food Technology and I sought the advice of my mother who happened to be a teacher. She suggested that I take a course that  majors in  TLE because it is one of the most in demand today and possibly in future as well.

What was the most interesting thing about the course?

It has 10 or more areas that will give you lifetime skills that you can use both for your professional and personal growth.

What kind of activities did you do in your major subjects?

Shop hands on work and training from basic to mastery level, in-campus and out-campus immersion in the last year of the course (which I assure you would totally enjoy with your students ).

What advice can you give to incoming students who are thinking of taking the same course you did?

My advice to people who are thinking of taking the same course is to focus on your studies to avoid difficulties in passing the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) because the TLE exam is  one of the hardest majors since it has 10 subject matters that you need to familiarize yourself with.  That said, overall, I enjoyed taking this course and I can assure you that you will too.

What are the things you learned from the course that have proven to be very useful in your work?

Two of the most helpful in our TLE subjects was the computer and entrepreneurship lessons as everybody needs to be familiar with it, even just the basic things.

Do you think you chose the right course?

Yes. I recommend this course due to the enhanced basic curriculum which we now know as the K-12. Our government is really trying hard to bring improvements in our education system, so it’s time we take advantage of them.
